The Diamond-y EPP Blog Hop

Here's another fun blog hop in celebration of the book - and this time, five talented bloggers played with diamond templates. It seems to me that many new EPP-ers come into the craft through making hexies and then sooner or later graduate to diamonds, which are wonderfully versatile and easy to work with.

The Fussy-Cut Hexie Challenge: a Blog Hop

To celebrate the launch of All Points Patchwork and get us all inspired in lots of new directions, I'll be hosting a series of blog hops through the end of the year. The first was The Fussy-Cut Hexie Challenge, in which five talented bloggers came up with projects based on (you guessed it) fussy-cut hexies. Click those thumbnail images above to visit the hoppers' blog posts and learn all kinds of cool tips and tricks.

Fussy-cutting, for those who haven't heard of it, is simply placing your EPP templates carefully on your fabric so that you capture a very specific bit of the design. Fussy-cutting creates all kinds of interesting design possibilities, as you can see above. Enjoy!

You might enjoy this little meditation I wrote for my lovely publisher's blog. It's about how hand-sewn patchwork accompanies you through life and ends up being a portrait of your days. Check it out on the Storey Blog!

The 12 Hexies (or Less) Blog Hop

Half Hexie Star Table Runner

I've taught lots of people to EPP, and the most common thing I hear from them is, "This is so much fun, but I don't want to make a great big quilt out of a thousand hexies!"

So last year, I hosted a blog hop at CraftyPod, where I challenged ten bloggers to make something awesome using no more than 12 hexagons. I was thrilled with all the cool projects that resulted! Click the links below to check them out. Small-scale EPP is always an option. :-)
